One More Try - Movie Review

*photo not mine*

One More Try is Star Cinema’s solely produced film in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. The genre is heavy romance / drama.

One More Try is starred Angel Locsin, Angelica Panganiban, Dingdong Dantes, and Zanjoe Marudo.  Ruel S. Bayani, who directed this emotion packed film, was also the director of last year's box office hit, No Other Woman.

The story was about the lives of two couples who love each other deeply, a mother who will do everything for her dying child, a husband/father who is longing to be with his son and who dreams about having his child, a wife who will fight for her husband and a lover who will wait for his love.

ADMIT ONE ---  I watched this movie with my High School friends.. :)

Their married life was merely perfect for Edward and Jacq (Dingdong Dantes and Angelica Panganiban) until Grace (Angel Locsin) came into the scene. Grace was Edward's ex-girlfriend. Grace needed the help of Edward to save their dying child - Botchok. The kid needs a bone marrow transplant to cure his serious illness. They did everything they could (in vitro, searching for possible donors, even his father (Edward) tissue-typing match) but they failed which led them to the last option possible. Grace and Edward needed to have another child in order to save the life of Botchok. You can never imagine how Jacq and Tristan (Zanjoe Marudo) will react on this situation. Akward, indeed. There are twists in the story which made it up a happy ending. But for me, the ending was so unrealistic. See, for what happened, they just forgave each other and even gathered together for a celebration, which I think its really impossible in reality.

One More Try is okay. It’s half a good movie.

There are things to like about it for sure: good performances, maybe good writing, some ideas about love & parenthood.

I just wish that it had been brave enough to explore darker possibilities, and had the guts to try and be realistic, try and say something true.

BREAKING DAWN PART 2: BONE-BREAKING & BREATH TAKING movie

Twihards have been waiting for the last installment of the ‘Twilight series’. Bella Swan, who turned into a vampire and her half-human half-vampire daughter Renesmee was born, ‘Breaking Dawn Part 2’ finally brought the curtain down for the vampire series with the final war between the Cullens and the Volturi.

ADMIT ONE! :)

I claimed myself as a big fan of this series, ( I think it started way back since I was in my pharma days)
And to know that this was the last part, I am so sad that it has to end, with no idea at all, whether triumph or a disaster?

Roller Coaster Emotion. Yes, I screamed, I cried, I laughed. The "twist" was really awesome!
The did not fail to keep the excitement until the very end. I'm almost leaning on the edge of my seat, my heart was beating fast, I had my long deep breaths and my nerves were cracking throughout the war between Cullens and the Volturi.

"A Thousand Years" soundtrack that made the movie sentimental especially when they gave a rundown of all the characters of the whole series and the best part was when it ended when Bella and Edward was sitting in the meadows like there is where it all began until forever. (grabe. nakaka-adik na talaga tong kantang ito!)

I was speechless and teary-eyed as I submerged in a wave of nostalgia. The fact that this was by far, the best film of the franchise in terms of excitement, acting, and story line.

I dont know what rating other people might give, but for me, I got my perfect ending... the best-EST ever...

How's this movie for you?

I Feel.. So Free.. Just like a FANTASY.

Suddenly Its Magic  is a feel-good romantic comedy movie for the for the teens, the young at heart, and for some adults who are patiently waiting for their Prince Charming.
It tells us the story of a Thai Superstar (Mario : Marcus) who portrays a lovable character in films but he himself loses faith on the magic of love when his co-star girlfriend (Baifern : Sririta)  dumped him for another guy. As he wants himself yo get lost and be freed, he goes to the Philippines wherein he meets a brokenhearted baker lady, (Erich : Joey)  who pretends to create magic through her cupcakes.
Besides Mario Maurer's super pakilig scenes and especially with kilig moments nila with Erich, I think I learned something, though its common.. but the film still reminds us on the magic of love and to dream about our happy endings.
And, it's about two things: to choose between the love of your life and the life that you love. One side chose love, the other went with ambition; both choices sacrificed the other and both turned up hurting people in the process. Love doesn't exist without hurt; happiness without sadness and sacrifice - they all come in a package, it's just the matter of how we learn from them and how we get stronger through them. In the end, they were both happy with their dream - dream of success and dream of being together.
THE QUOTE:
"I’m getting all of my dreams because you set me free. And all of my dreams would mean more if you’re with me. And I still love you. I would like to think and to believe that this time we’re stronger, we’re more grown-up, we know better, and because we know what’s like to be apart from each other. And no matter how tough things get, we’re not gonna let each other go again… Will you be with me?"
- Marcus, Suddenly It’s Magic

Both Marcus and Joey represent two different worlds with different traditions. Shot in wonderful place of Ilocos and solemn Thailand, the film tried to unite the two characters through love. The magic might work for some viewers but may fall short for others. It all depends on who were you before you enter the cinema. Pag bitter or di naniniwala sa love - never mind nalang! ok?

Why a must watch?
- Nakakakilig
- Ang pogi ni Mario Maurer (to death!)
- Masaya, Nakakagaan sa Puso
- May mapupulot na lessons in LOVE.
- Appreciation of awesome scenes like Ilocos and Thailand
- Makakarelate in decision making chorvaness

~~~ Ikaw? Do you believe in Magic? Or you must try....
